Achievements

Children England is committed to demonstrating to its members, funders and a wider audience the impact that it is having. We believe it is only by doing this that we will be able to show how we provide added value and are effective in making a positive difference to the lives of children, young people and families. 

We provide our members and funders with regular updates on the work we are undertaking and will continue to make a wider audience aware of what we are achieving, including through our website. If you would like to find out more about our work and our plans please do not hesitate to contact us. 

Our top five achievements in 2009 were: 

• Publishing and delivering training on Love Your Tender, a practical toolkit to support and skill up small organisations, acclaimed by both the sector and service commissioners.
• Securing a two year contract, in partnership with NSPCC, to deliver Safe Network, the Third Sector Safeguarding Unit; providing training, advice and help to community based organisations working with children and young people.
• Producing and distributing Key Aspects in Developing the Children's Workforce, a clear and comprehensive guide to the plethora of initiatives and new ways of working arising from the 2020 Children and Young People's Workforce Strategy.
• Developing dedicated web pages on Children and Homelessness on the Communities and Local government website, raising the profile of this poorly understood issue and highlighting members' innovative work supportinging homeless children.
• Launching our new website with a "members only" area, promoting our work and that of our members.
