Achievements

Children England is committed to demonstrating to its members, funders and a wider audience the impact that it is having. We believe it is only by doing this that we will be able to show how we provide added value and are effective in making a positive difference to the lives of children, young people and families.

We provide our members and funders with regular updates on the work we are undertaking and will continue to make a wider audience aware of what we are achieving, including through our website. If you would like to find out more about our work and our plans please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our top five achievements in 2011 were

Winning Overarching Strategic Partner status for the Department of Education, with our partners Community Matters, NAVCA, Race Equality Foundation, NCVYS and the Social Enterprise Coalition, providing a new platform to champion the sector across government.

Publishing Counting the Cuts; a comprehensive research report documenting the real impact of public expenditure cuts on the children young people and families VCSE Sector.

Playing a leading role in the Family Services and Early Years Strategic Partnerships;delivering capacity building and policy support to partners and the wider sector.

Securing continuation funding for Safe Network, together with NSPCC and our new partners, the Child Accident Prevention Trust, and delivering safeguarding support to more than 4,000 local voluntary groups.

Fit for the Future, our national conference inspired 120 delegates to think radically about how to best serve communities in a context of reducing resources; sharing amazing leading edge examples and voicing collective concerns on behalf of vulnerable children and young people.
