Achievements
Children England is committed to demonstrating to its members, funders and a wider audience the impact that it is having. We believe it is only by doing this that we will be able to show how we provide added value and are effective in making a positive difference to the lives of children, young people and families.
We provide our members and funders with regular updates on the work we are undertaking and will continue to make a wider audience aware of what we are achieving, including through our website. If you would like to find out more about our work and our plans please do not hesitate to contact us.
Our top five achievements in 2008 were:
- A new name and logo to increase our visibility and effectiveness in championing the sector.
- Securing ongoing funding for Regional Development Managers, extending development support to organisations and networks in every region.
- Publishing Every Organisation Matters, in partnership with NCVYS, the first ever mapping of the sector.
- The Governing for Children guide and conference, raising the profile of good governance in the children young people and families voluntary sector.
- Working with the Office of the Third Sector to produce a handbook to improve the way government consults the sector.
