North East Regional Group
Children England's North East regional group welcomes new members to join the core group. The leadership has been shared between several individuals and this gives the group a greater resilience and effectiveness. We have successfully recruited new members to the group and this has led to lively debates on key voluntary sector issues and the sharing of useful market information. We have positive links with Government Office and have written to Children's Services Directors, campaigning on a number of issues. Position statements have been successfully developed regarding commissioning, and the sector's approach to ContactPoint. The latter has proved to be influential in the national arena.
