A South West approach to the third sector delivery of children and young people and families services

Children England through its VCS Engage project aims to provide support facing the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) delivering children and young people's services across the South West. The project employs one Regional Development Manager (RDM) whose post is supported by the Regional Youth Work Unit in Taunton. The project is led by a steering group of VCSO managers under the chairmanship of Jon Brown Operational Director of Childrens Services for Action for Children.

The South West is an enormous geographic area and the 16 local authority areas provide a full range of challenges and opportunities for the VCS Engage project, last year we spent some time identifying local priorities and developed an action plan in consultation with the sector. The full plan for 2008-9 can be viewed here
