VCS Engage in the West Midlands is working through and steered by the Growing up in the West Midlands Partnership (G:up) which was previously funded through Change Up and Capacity Builders.

The G:up partnership is a constituted Alliance formed to involve a wide range of VCS infrastructure bodies and organisations, and to ensure representation and communication across 0-19 services and sub-sector specialisms within that range including play, youth, children, early years and families. They have also strengthened the relationships with the statutory sector and other partners, especially through the Government Office for the West Midlands (GOWM) where the RDM regularly brings together VCS Children's Trust representatives, and also represents the VCS during the two day stock take meeting to review children and young people's services for each local authority.

Events

G:up host regular events for their wide membership which are advertised below. The organisation has developed a learning cluster in the region for VCS staff working with vulnerable children and young people, which focuses on practice developments and organisational collaboration. This group is developing a model combining occasional meetings and ‘virtual' mechanisms to provide an open,
flexible and responsive learning group.
