Volunteering
Volunteers make up a significant and vital part of the children, young people and families/carers workforce. A recent report by CWDC estimated that there were 5.25 million people volunteering with young people alone. You can find out more information about volunteering at CWDC's website here.
What can volunteering do for you?
Volunteering is great for your community and makes the world a better place; but could it actually make a positive impact on your life also.
Whether you just want to do something that is unusual and inspiring, or whether you want to meet new people, and to learn new skills and improve your CV then you may consider volunteering as an option within the third sector.
Here are a number of websites and organisations you can look at if you are involved in the management of volunteers:
- Directgov.uk
- Do-It
- Timebank
- The Access to Volunteering Fund
- The Association of Volunteer Managers (AVM)
- The Institute for Volunteering Research (IVR)
- Voluntary Service Overseas
- Volunteering England
