Working with Parents & Families/Carers

It is vital that those in the parenting and family support workforce have the right skills, and knowledge to equip them to work efficiently and effectively with parents, families, and carers.

In the footprint of Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) Parent partnership services are a key area and CWDC are working with key organisations to identify parent partnership training and workforce needs.

CWDC are working in partnership with the National Association of Parent Partnership Staff (NAPPS) and the National Parent Partnership Network (NPPN). 

CWDC have launched a new support to work with parents and families programme.

CWDC's programme has three key themes:

• 1. Qualifications and Training Development and Delivery.
• 2. Communication and Strategic Change.
• 3. Promotion of Evidence Based Practice throughout the Workforce.

CWDC will also be working with the National Academy for Parenting Research on the continued provision and development of the Commissioning Toolkit.

The Commissioning Toolkit  is a searchable online database of parenting programmes and approaches available in England.
