‘Good Practice' on Equality and Diversity in the Workforce

Following last year's successful workforce research and development grants (funded by CWDC), Children England (in partnership with CWDC) were keen to showcase the ‘Good Practice' in Equality and Diversity across the children's voluntary sector organisations. Children England contacted many organisations across the VCS requesting their examples/case studies and following much hard work, have now produced this initial publication which draws together this work.

Report on Workforce Development Equality & Diversity Grants 2009/10

With funding from the CWDC, Children England was able to offer financial support of up to £2500 for direct service delivery organisations to share their experience of developing equality/diversity initiatives which develop their workforce and demonstrate added value in the quality of their provision and end user experience. A total of 10 grants were available and distributed.  The funding allowed direct service delivery organisations to innovate practice in equality and diversity linked to Workforce Development.

 Wider Reference Group 9th May 2011

The third meeting of the Wider Reference Group received an update of progress to date on the College and a presentation on the Professional Capabilities Framework being developed by the Social Work Reform Board. This framework, once developed and agreed, will pass to The College which will ensure that it is used to support social workers to achieve excellence in their practice.
