Hi Make the Most of Monday readers,

I hope you've all enjoyed the lovely sunshine these past few weeks. One of my friends said it could snow in some areas of the country next week and I definitely shed a tear (I do love the snow, just not yet!).

The last time I wrote to you, the nation was gearing up for back to school season and many adults were preparing to return to their usual place of work too. Sadly, since then, there have been many cases of local lockdowns and some schools asking certain year-groups to isolate. So i wanted to take this week to remind you of some of the amazing resources I've gathered since March, if you're finding your household stuck at home again. These are just a couple pulled from some editions, but do have a look through the archive if you want more!

If you're one of the lucky households still able to send your children to school, check out the last edition. Also at the bottom, there's a some new resource that has been sent in to us to aid the transition too.

So without further ado, here are some positive resources to start your week as you mean to go on, making the most of Monday:

To home school:

  • Twinkl - when you find those 5 minutes where you can engage the little ones, Twinkl have some great resources.

To socialise:

  • Virtual games night: Organising one with friends and family is a great way to see them. Houseparty has some great inbuilt games if you're stuck for ideas

To keep fit:

  • The Body Coach - At the beginning of lockdown, you may remember #PEwithJoe, where you could start your day with 30 minutes of fitness to get you going. At the link, you can find a whole archive of exercise to do alone, with the family, in the garden, or a small space indoors, with new content posted regularly so you never run out of choice!

To make you smile:

New resource for back to school:

  • Tutorful Guides - born out of a collaboration between tutors, schools and mental health professionals, these guides are packed full of actionable advice for students and parents that will help get students caught up with work and calm any anxieties surrounding their return to school.

That’s it from me, I hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of #MaketheMostofMonday. If you enjoyed reading this blog and want to share something for future editions, please drop me a line at [email protected] or tweet/DM. In the meantime, I hope you have a lovely rest of your week, stay safe, and stay positive ðŸ˜Š
