Debbie is Founder and CEO of AFRUCA with 16 years’ senior level experience of establishing and growing the charity to provide services meeting the safeguarding needs of children and families in Black communities across the UK.

Prior to establishing AFRUCA, she worked for over 13 years in UK National Government, holding different policy positions in a number of departments including urban regeneration, small business development, enterprise development and social enterprise development.

Debbie serves in various executive and non executive roles for statutory agencies and non-governmental organisations working with children including as current Chair of KEEN London, a pan-London charity using sports to support children living with disability.  

Debbie was awarded an OBE for services to children and families in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2011.
