Hi readers ðŸ˜Š

I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend, and managed to enjoy it as best you could in these unprecedented times. I found it really weird. Any time off from work is usually spent with family and friends that I don’t get to see too often. But in order to keep those same friends and family safe, this time I stayed home. I still made the most of the weekend by reading some positive news outlets, catching up on some missed sessions of PE with Joe Wicks and hosting a virtual games night with a few friends!

I also want to say thank you to all our essential frontline workers who worked through the bank holiday weekend and hope that you get a chance to rest at some point too.

This week I wanted to share some shining examples of what great organisations are doing up and down the country to support young people during the coronavirus crisis. So without further ado, here is a small burst of positive news to start your week as you mean to go on, making the most of Monday:

Child Friendly Gloucestershire: Child Friendly Gloucestershire is an effort by agencies in the county to make sure the voice of our young people is heard in decision making. They’ve made 7 key promises to all children in Gloucestershire and are now asking for feedback. I grew up in Gloucestershire so it’s great to see what key stakeholders are doing to improve lives for children!

My Hero is You, Storybook for Children on Covid-19: Before relocating back to Gloucester recently, I was based in the London Borough of Enfield who shared the following storybook in their weekly newsletter. This is a story developed for and by children all around the world to help them understand the Covid-19 pandemic, currently available in 17 languages. I read the book last night to my little sister who really enjoyed it, and helped her understand Covid-19 much better.

Rockets Kids Club – The Rockets Kids Club is an online community platform, allowing children to be inspired, to create and to share. Launching in Liverpool, Launceston, Ludlow, Luton, Littlehampton and Leeds this Friday, these cities will be a hub for some great activities that anyone can watch from their homes. Find out more at the link above!

That’s it from me, I hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of #MaketheMostofMonday. If you have anything to add, please drop me a line at [email protected] or tweet/DM. I do endeavour to keep producing this blog, but it may become increasingly difficult in the coming weeks (So please send any good news that comes your way!). In the meantime, I hope you have a lovely rest of your week, stay safe, and stay positive ðŸ˜Š
