Child poverty is set to increase sharply in low income working families in inner London as a result of tax and benefit changes which will considerably reduce household incomes for families with three or more children over the course of the next Parliament, while real wages stagnate and the cost of living soars. 4in10 has carried out in depth interviews with low-income working families in inner London on the complex challenges they face around housing problems, food insecurity, low paid and insecure work, and managing money and bills. The report uses the stories of five working families struggling to make ends meet to illustrate the difficulties faced by the families behind the figures.
