As a Charity our Mission Statement sets out our aim to create an environment where young people can reach their full potential whatever their circumstances.  Our ethos is to enable every young person of every background to develop and succeed, regardless of any barriers. We provide a balanced programme of activities that develops the whole person in preparation for higher education and employment, in an environment of social interaction and team working using a nautical theme.  Young people progress though a rank structure as well as undergo specialist training and are given the opportunity to attain nationally recognised qualifications.

The Maritime Cadets builds confidence and develops self-esteem.  It requires persistence, commitment and has a lasting impact on the attitudes and outlook of all young people who join.

Maritime Cadets is open to any young person between the ages of 8 and 18 as a Cadet and 18-25 as a Young Leader.

There are Maritime Cadet Units throughout the UK that are run by teams of dedicated and committed volunteers. Each Unit is managed by an independent Unit Management Committee and run by a team of dedicated uniformed adult volunteers, qualified in their areas of specialisation.
